Painter, Photographer and multi-media artist Gretchen Ryan, who is currently Los Angeles based, premiered her new show “Cheers in Heaven” at the Fred Torres Collaborations Gallery in Downtown Chelsea area on November 15, 2011. Her imagery depicted throughout the colorful paintings and photographs were of youthful beauty queen-like ladies. One of these young ladies, thought to be the muse of the collection, was actually present, smiling towards photographs and stating how “excited and fun” this event was and as a result how thrilled she was to be able to be a part of these artistic pieces.

Gretchen Ryan revealed her desire to inspire innocence and unconditional love expressed though her media forms regarding the young children as well as animals including goats. Ryan utilizes many resources when creating her portraits, including instruments such as smoke machines, lighting, props and fans. Her ultimate mission with the usage of these elements in combination, required for the set of these portraits, is to inspire the heavenly “light of children”. She would like to allude to a dream-like manner with her masterful creations. Furthermore this young do-gooder artist from Los Angeles also is involved in animal rights movements including rescue organizations fighting for such causes. This Manhattan, New York based exhibition is planned to close early next year, January 7, 2012.
